As teachers, we want all of our students to be able to express themselves creatively and cogently. This resource allows students use a picture as a writing prompt to create creative sentences/paragraphs based on a picture.. This digital resource in Google Slides has 10 different prompts all based on food. These prompts are great for a food unit. These prompts allow for all kinds of writing and ideas. Share these slides with students on Google Classroom! Each prompt comes with two pages:
- basic questions such as Who? Did What? When? Where? After students list the basics, they have the details they need for a correct complete sentence, or paragraph.
- : students write a complete sentence in response to the picture. You can change writing requirements depending on the student’s grade and level. For higher grades, you can ask for a small paragraph. The concept behind these picture prompts is creative writing and sentence structure.
Also included in this resource is two pages for error analysis and small group intervention planning. This resource is all available on Google Slides. So you can change the prompts as needed, or share it with your students and have them fill in the text boxes. Do you prefer to print it out? No problem. Just print the pages on the downloadable PDF and have your students writing about food today!
